Scania Siam unveils new MD with various abilities while maintaining market leadership No. 1 European brand of commercial vehicle in Thailand.

      Mr. Luc Moulin has been appointed as Managing Director of Scania Siam Co., Ltd. He has a wide range of experiences and skills. Start with a strong financial background from a European financial institution before joining Scania. And at the beginning of his career with Scania, he was a part of financial services establishment in Luxembourg. Luc’s interests quickly turned into commercial operations, he stepped in the role of sales and services of Scania Belgium. And then, became General manager for Scania Luxembourg. With his experience in finance, sales and services, he was appointed as Director of Bus Sales in Scania’s largest market in Europe; Germany and Austria markets, which has more than 8,000 registrations per year. He also introduced BEV buses for Scania in the Germany market before took the challenge in Thailand. He has now brought all his talents and experience to lead Scania in Thailand. “I’m approachable, feet on ground. I like working closely with employees, and even closer to Scania customers in order to understand better the needs of Thai market” Mr. Luc said.

      Mr. Luc shares his views on the three main pillars of Scania’s business in Thailand. The first pillar is trucks, there is still good demand from the market even during the pandemic situation. Scania Siam has done well by being the number 1 European truck brand in Thailand continuously throughout the years past. In 2023 Scania Siam is working to have more vehicle in stock. “Year 2023 Scania truck in Thailand will be improved, the new technology and feature will go to the next level, performance and fuel economy even better. Thai customers will do business make even more profits” Mr. Luc said.

      The second pillar is buses and coach. Scania has been building a reputation of premium quality for a long time in the Thailand market. Currently, the bus business is recovering session and Scania has fully supported our bus customers throughout the past situation, whether in terms of flexible finance, both installment and credit terms, including a variety of after-sales services tailored to customers. Solutions comes from listening and understanding the problems and limitations that customers face. “We have no limitations on importing bus chassis in 2023, just demand from customers in the market. So, we can respond.” Mr. Luc said.

     Mr. Luc mentioned another important service that has become very popular in recent years. “The best marketing is to let people has experience on our truck and bus, test drive in real transport operation, keep Scania on the road as much as possible. And with that, Scania’s financial service very support on that. We understand the transportation business, so we can do more flexible with various conditions, that’s why we have a lot of new retail customers.” For example Drive First, Pay Later, helps customers maintain their cash flow and continue to grow their business at the same time.” Today, it is easier for Thai transport operators to own Scania products by Scania financial service. In 2023, there will be more services provide for customer in order to meet various business models.

     The third part is services, which Scania plans to invest more service units for repair and maintenance to support more Scania vehicles on road, covering areas across the country. “We are focusing on the standard work quality in every dealers, providing the best uptime for customers. We also invest on developing our people competency to meet quality standards both in service and sales skills.”said Mr. Luc.

     Scania ready and encourage Thailand to switch to Euro 5 standard, which we already have the technology and expertise on that. Scania technology has reached the Euro 6 standard for more than 10 years, it is a technology that has been used in European country for a long time. “Nowadays we talk a lot about electric trucks, but how about reduce CO2 here and now with a ready combustion engine in today technology and even more efficient by Scania trucks” Mr. Luc commented.

     “We value every customer’s opinion. We take serious improvements systematically in every cases for a better customer satisfaction. I would like to thank all customers for their interest in Scania. We are the No. 1 market leader of European branded trucks in Thailand. I am confident that we will maintain our position this year and beyond with better products and services,” Mr. Luc concluded.
