BMW Thailand is reinforcing its leadership in Thailand’s premium PHEV and BEV electric vehicle segment, pushing forward BMW’s and BMW Millennium Auto’s sustainability goals through the allotment of 34 units of BMW 530e M Sport Plug-in Hybrid vehicles to facilitate Trade Ministers from APEC members during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit (APEC 2022). This will embolden BMW’s ambition in supporting the Thai Government’s initiative to promote the Sustainable Development Goals amongst APEC members and pave the way for carbon emissions reduction policies, by highlighting the groundswell of excitement surrounding PHEV and BEV electric vehicles.
Mr. Alexander Baraka, President and CEO, BMW Group Thailand, said: “It is an excellent opportunity for the Thai Government to host APEC 2022, under the theme: ‘Open. Connect. Balance.’ This marks a great steppingstone for Thailand to raise awareness of sustainable development and the reduction of environmental impacts, which requires effort and cooperation from all sectors including the government, private sector, and citizens. This also aligns with BMW’s mission for curating the Future of Mobility that leads to sustainable pollution reduction and healthy environment. We are delighted to share our ambition to sustainably drive towards environmental goals with the service of the BMW 530e M Sport to accommodate the APEC Trade Ministers’ Meeting 2022. We would also like to extend our gratitude to the Thai Government for having measures in place to encourage the use of electric vehicles throughout the system (both PHEV and BEV), and the Ministry of Commerce for recognizing the importance of selecting clean energy vehicles and designating them as exclusive transportation to accommodate the attending representatives of this illustrious world conference.”
